Hi guys! Can you believe there is less than a month of summer left? Well, to be honest, I don’t. The weather is absolutely beautiful here in Montreal, and I am enjoying it as much as I can – running outside, reading my favourite books on a porch swing and eating as many local fruits and vegetables as I can. I am in the mood for summer outfits, and even Zara’s autumn winter collection can’t change that.
If you ask me what makes a great summer look, I’ve got only one thing on my mind: carefree and easy vibe. I mean, summer is all about being free: free from extra layers of clothes, tons of makeup and ideally from work or school-related stress, right? So, whenever I go on vacation or simply walk on the streets of my hometown on a hot summer day, a basic tee and denim shorts is always my favourite combination. That being said, I am always looking for new ways to add a cool touch to this quite minimalist look, because no girl wants to wear the same thing every day. Let me pass one of them along to you today.
There is no better way to stay cool and stylish in the heat wave than wearing a wide-brim straw hat and a pair of espadrilles. These accessories go with me on pretty much every summer trip, no matter the destination or the length of my vacation. Not only will they make being all day in the sun comfortable, but they will also make your everyday summer outfits look put-together and smart. I had a chance to test that myself last month in Athens, where at times all I could think of was how lucky I am to have a hat to protect me from getting a sunstroke and how many portions of gelato per day is too much.
I am convinced that summer outfits don’t have to be all about countless bracelets, chokers and other fashion jewelry. What do you think? How do you make your everyday summer outfits more interesting?
